Connecting to the Lab Machines Remotely
You may want to connect remotely to the lab machine at times when it is inconvenient to work in the lab. If you have a Windows machine, you will want to download Putty.
If you have a Mac, you can connect directly to the lab machines using the following command:
ssh username@colossus.it.mtu.eduor
ssh username@guardian.it.mtu.eduwhere username is your username. The terminal will then ask for your password. Type in your Michigan Tech password (the same one you use for Canvas) and press enter. NOTE: YOUR PASSWORD WILL NOT SHOW UP WHILE YOU ARE TYPING IT. THIS IS NORMAL.
You should now have access to your lab machine.
